Posters describing Covid as a “scam” have been located in Orton Goldhay, including on a bin, lamppost, green junction box and even on a parish council notice board in Church Drive, Orton Waterville.

Among the messages posted are: “Don’t live in fear! Covid is a scam!” and “stop lockdowns”.

Some of the messages have been removed by Orton Waterville Parish Council.

Green Party councillor Julie Howell, who sits on the parish council and Peterborough City Council, said: “I don’t imagine the messages will have much impact on people’s behaviour. The clean up operation is going to be costly and it will be council taxpayers that foot the bill.”
