Coronavirus: Further patient dies at hospitals run by Peterborough health trust

A further patient with Covid-19 has died at a hospital run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

It is the 16th straight day that a patient with the virus has died at either Peterborough City Hospital or Hinchingbrooke Hospital, although the number has reduced to one a day for the past three days.

According to the latest NHS England figures, 131 people at hospitals run by the trust have passed away.

Nationally, a further 539 Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours across the UK, bringing the total to 30,615.

In Peterborough, the number of people to have tested positive for the virus has risen from 278 to 284.

The number of positive tests is 868 for Cambridgeshire, 903 for Lincolnshire and 1,084 for Northamptonshire.
