Coronavirus: Eight deaths at Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke hospitals

Three people have died at the city hospital and five at Hinchinbrooke, the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has revealed.
The trust said all patients were over 70 and had pre-existing health conditions.

Hide AdTrust chief executive Caroline Walker said today (Monday): “I can confirm that sadly eight patients being cared for in our trust have passed away - five at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and three at Peterborough City Hospital.
“All patients were over the age of 70 and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
The eight deaths have all be confirmed within the past week.

Hide AdIn Peterborough, the number of patients who have tested positive for coronavirus is now 24.
In Cambridgeshire,, the figure is 109, while in Northamptonshire it is 153 and in Lincolnshire it is 78.
In the UK, 180 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died within the past 24 hours.
The total number of positive tests over that period is 2,107.
So far, 22,141 people in the country have been confirmed to have the virus, with 1,408 people dying.
