Coronavirus causes Peterborough green awards ceremony to be rescheduled

An awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of green businesses from across the UK, to be held in Peterborough, have been rescheduled due to the coronavirus.

The Investors in the Environment (iiE) awards were due to be held on April 22 but will now be held on Thursday, September 17 from 6.30pm at the Great Northern Hotel.

The iiE said: “We have been closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak and related government guidelines. The health and safety of our event attendees is of the utmost importance to us.

“After careful consideration, and having received feedback from iiE members who are experiencing changes to company travel and event attendance policies, we have decided to postpone the iiE Awards until September 17, 2020.”

The deadline for nominations is now August 14.

The keynote speaker for the event is John Grant, author of Greener Marketing and the Green Marketing Manifesto.

Attendees will be able to enjoy refreshments and a three-course meal made from locally sourced and plant-based ingredients.
