Christmas carols raise money for Peterborough City Hospital

A group called the Werrington Clodhoppers donated £2,400 to the Oncology Department at Peterborough City Hospital after a collection over the three days before Christmas, culminating with carol singing on the village green on Christmas Eve.

The money will go towards four new treatment chairs for the department’s assessment area.

Katie Jephcott, consultant clinical oncologist and associate clinical director of the Oncology Department, said: “We are so grateful to the Werrington Clodhoppers for their generous donation.”

Andy Petrie, the Clodhoppers’ event co-ordinator, said: “The donation is partly in recognition of the continued treatment and care for one of our long-term members who has walked the streets with us for many years on the Clodhoppers collections, and of course on behalf of all the families for which Peterborough City Hospital gives help and hope.”
