Farcet road closures to begin - just months after major bridge works
Major works that will see a busy Peterborough road closed are set to begin – not long after major bridge works in the same area finished.
Peterborough Road (between Whittlesey Road roundabout and Farcet) will close between 9am and 4pm for five days from Monday, October 26.
Carriageway re-surfacing will take place during the week – but access will be maintained, route open to pedestrians at all times.
The works come not long after major works were carried out on a bridge in the area, causing major traffic disruption.

On social media, Peterborough City Council said they had looked at trying to combine the works, to limit the period of disruption, but it was not possible.
They said: “We acknowledge this route was recently closed to complete the bridge joint replacement project and appreciate that resurfacing will create a further disruption.
“Opportunities to combine the works were explored however this was not possible because it would have meant those living between the roundabout and the bridge not being able to access their homes. Now the bridge is open we can divert traffic in and out via the bridge when access at the roundabout end is not possible.
“Thank you in advance for your co operation and patience whilst we complete the works.”
