The event was hosted on Thursday (September 24) with all of the 46 school leavers invited to come back.
Normally, the school would host a special assembly and a disco in July before the children leave to move up to secondary school but for some, the last time they set foot in the school would have been March.
38 former pupils took up the opportunity to attend. They had to register in advance before attending the socially distanced ceremony, which included a speech from Headteacher Mr Thrower and a chance for all the children to stand up and share their favorite memories from their time at the school.
Each pupil was provided with a commemorative photo, dictionary and year book, which included photos of all the children and space to write messages. They were also given the opportunity to get shirts and other memorabilia signed. The Parent Friends Association then provided the children with specially designed leavers hoodies with the names of all of the leavers on the back.
School Business Manager Susanne Ecclestone said: “It was lovely to see so many come back and they were really happy to be back. They had all gotten so tall in the time they’ve been away.
“We thought it was really important to do this so that they could properly draw a line under their time at primary school. We wanted to make sure they had these memories, even though they are a little different this year.”
