Peterborough City Council has signalled its intention to sell off the Fletton Learning Centre in Fleet Way.

The centre is one of three which formed part of Peterborough’s Pupil Referral Service which caters for pupils who have been - or are at risk of - exclusion from school or have additional emotional, social and behavioural needs.

The unit became part of the Thomas Deacon Education Trust last May where it was renamed the Richard Barnes Academy, but the centre in Fletton did not transfer over and has been vacant since.

Instead, only sites in Paston and West Town remain operational.

Selling off the centre will help the council with its financial pressures brought about by government cuts and the coronavirus pandemic.
