The 9 Peterborough secondary schools which are oversubscribed

March 1 this year was National Offer Day where parents found out which secondary school their child had been placed in.

In Peterborough, parents were able to rank schools by preference with the city council committing to offer a place at the “highest ranked preference it is possible to meet”.

This year, 78.3 per cent of 2,222 pupils were placed at their first choice school - a fall from 81.6 per cent in 2020.

Moreover, the number of pupils who were not offered a place at any of their first three choices rose from 4.8 per cent (137) to 6.7 per cent (192) this year.

The number of applications received by the council increased from 2,537 in 2020 to 2,810 in 2021.

Below are the nine secondary schools (out of 13) which received more applications than places available, or no longer have places remaining after the allocation process was completed.

The figures are correct as off March 1, 2021.
