Youngsters of all ages have been taking part in a variety of lessons at home while schools are shut to most pupils. From PE lessons in the garden - or with YouTube star Joe Wicks in the living room, arts and crafts lessons on the dining table or cookery classes in the kitchen, families have been creative in making sure children have been getting school work done. Pupils have also been able to take part in science lessons, starting to grow plants. All schools were closed to most pupils across the country last month, with only children from critical worker families, or those who are supported by social care and who have safeguarding and welfare needs. In Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, only about two per cent of pupils are attending a school - about 2,400 children. Last month, a council spokesman said there are about 2,700 teachers available to work.
