With many traditional Remembrance events cancelled this year, schools have come up with new ways to show their respect for those that have lost their lives in conflicts.

Colourful displays have been seen in many with some also laying wreaths at the War Memorial in Bridge Street.

The pupils and staff at Woodston Primary School worked together in their class bubbles to create poppy rocks before placing these on their school hill. Both then paid their respects when arranging their poppies in honour of members of the Armed Forces who have and continue to serve in the line of duty and then paid tribute with a two minutes of silence and reflection.

Head Teacher, Jacki Mitchell, said: “We believe it is important that the current generation remember the sacrifices of previous generations and it was wonderful for every member of our school community to be part of our poppy hill creation

Meanwhile, two students from NeneGate School, who attend Stamford Welland Combined Cadet Force weekly, went to the Bridge Street War Memorial to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. A parade was originally planned in both Stamford and Peterboorugh but that had to be cancelled and instead the cadets laid the wreath alongside Cadet Officer Jon Blundell, who works at NeneGate.

Below are their efforts and a selection of other schools.
