The college received high praise for its ability to deliver on its promise of providing a welcoming environment that inspires people to develop and achieve personal, social, academic and economic goals, despite funding cuts to adult education.

The Parliamentary Review is a series of independent publications produced with the strategic aim of raising standards by highlighting industry best practice. In recent years it has featured forewords by Theresa May, David Cameron, Caroline Lucas and other high profile political figures. The Review’s release is marked by an annual gala in Westminster.

The college, which is celebrating its 75th year, has also been shortlisted for five Times Education Supplement 2020 FE Awards this year,

Pat Carrington, executive principal, said: “This influential guide to industry best practice gives the college a credible national platform on which to showcase our offering in terms of the work we undertake with our local residents to develop their skills, build aspirations and improve their work and life chances.”
