Peterborough A Levels: Excellent set of results at Thomas Deacon Academy

Amongst the highest performing subjects were Computer Science, Further Maths and Fine Art; indicative of the wide range of opportunities available to sixth form students at the Academy.

Principal at Thomas Deacon Academy, Rick Carroll, said: “It has been a very challenging academic year and these results are a testament to the hard work and partnership of our parents, staff and students. A significant proportion of our students have fulfilled or exceeded our expectations and these results continue to reflect the hard work put in by students and staff over the last two years.

“Early indications show that most students who want to go on to university will be able to access their first choice and for many, these results demonstrate excellent progress. We are offering one to one sessions for those who need support and guidance throughout the day and encourage any students who need support to get in touch.”

Highest performing students included:

Sharafiab Chowdhury, who gained four A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics, earning a well-deserved place to study Engineering at Cambridge University.

Ahmet Kucuk, Head Boy, achieved A* grades in Computer Science and Further Maths and A grades in Maths and Physics, going onto study Computer Science at Warwick University.

Karanjeet Khera, who achieved an A* in Biology and A grades in Chemistry and Maths.

Mohammed Raza, who achieved four A grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths.

Zoe Newson, Head Girl who achieved an A* in Geography, an A in Biology and a B in Chemistry, earning a place to study Bioscience at Durham University.

Aleah Haider, who achieved an A* in Fine Art, A in Photography and a B in Media Studies.
