Kimbolton Pre-School celebrates Chinese New Year

Pupils at Kimbolton Pre-School, Cambridgeshire, have been celebrating Chinese New Year this week, with a range of activities packed full of colour, creativity and cultural discovery.
The children made beautiful lanterns, took part in an exciting dragon dance, and even practised chopping noodles during imaginative role-play activities. The celebrations offered a wonderful opportunity to explore traditions and learn about this special festival.
A highlight of the week was a talk from a Year 5 pupil, who shared a special Chinese New Year story with the younger children. They listened carefully and thoroughly enjoyed celebrating alongside one of the older pupils.
Claire Petrie, Head of Kimbolton Prep School, said: “These celebrations are a fantastic way to learn about different cultures from around the world. The children all embraced the activities with great enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they explored new traditions together. Opportunities like this help broaden their understanding of the world and encourage respect for different cultures.”
