In just a few weeks time Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils across Peterborough will sit SATs to prepare them for the next stage in their educational journey.
SATs are a way of evaluating how much pupils have learned so far in English and Maths, allowing the government to measure schools’ performance.
This data is then used to create an England-wide league table where parents can gauge educational progress.
KS1 and KS2 SATs are scheduled to start in May, with pupils now busy preparing with parents and teachers.
This year’s KS2 SATs are scheduled to take place between May 11 and May 14, while the dates of KS1 tests will be decided by each individual school.
Using data provided by the Department for Education, we’ve taken a look at the six Peterborough primary schools with the highest percentage of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
Pupils are meeting the expected standard if they achieve a scaled score of 100 or more in their reading and maths tests, and their teacher assesses them as 'working at the expected standard' or better in writing.
Pupils are achieving at a higher standard if they achieve a scaled score of 110 or more in their reading and maths tests, and their teacher assesses them as ‘working at a greater depth within the expected standard’ in writing.
