Coronavirus: School donates 12,000 pieces of PPE to the NHS

More than 12,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) have been donated to the NHS by Stamford Endowed Schools.

So far, 12,140 face masks have been handed over in the fight against the coronavirus.

The independent school said it had supplied the kit to 172 locations around the UK and shared its designs with more than 100 other schools.

It also praised the “amazing community support” it had received through donations, manufacturing and materials.

The work has been undertaken in the Design Technology department with seven members of staff involved in the manufacturing.

The school’s remarkable effort has been mirrored in Peterborough where thousands of pieces of PPE have been created and handed out locally.

Yesterday, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust thanked city schools for the donations they had received.
