Coronavirus: Peterborough pupils’ incredible donation to food bank

Generous children and their families collected an incredible amount of food to donate to needy residents in the city.

The youngsters at Newark Hill School held their appeal to help the food bank before schools were closed because of the coronavirus crisis last week.

The children were allowed to were non-uniform in return for their denotations

Principal Sonia Kendal said: “I’m amazed by the generosity of our parents at this difficult time. I never expected to receive this much food. It just goes to show what brilliant families we have here at the Academy. Our pupils are very caring, and through these donations they’ve proven that they have a great sense of social responsibility.”
