An evening of celebration

The event, hosted by the Academy’s Senior Leadership Team attracted more than 200 pupils and their parents, along with special guests, The Deputy Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor Keith Sharp and Deputy Mayoress, Christine Wilson.

Guests were welcomed to the event by head boy, Charlie, head girl, Ellie Mai, deputy head boy, James and deputy head girl, Scarlett.

More than 150 pupils received an award at this year’s ceremony for their achievement, progress or effort made, for their contribution to sports or for service to academy life.

As part of the ceremony Chair of Governors, Eric Winstone gave an inspirational speech encouraging pupils to work hard and to follow their dreams. 

This was followed by a delightful musical performance from the Ormiston Meadows Academy choir.

Principal, Jean Watt said: “I believe strongly in celebrating the amazing success of our pupils and recognising their progress and achievements. 

“Our pupils have worked extremely hard over the past year and as an Academy we feel it is important to recognise this commitment by coming together to reward the very highest achievers.” 

Chair of Governors, Eric Winstone said: “I am so proud of our pupils here at Ormiston Meadows Academy and what they have achieved over the past year. 

“I am delighted to see so many different pupils receiving awards and taking pride in their achievements.  The camaraderie amongst the pupils this evening has been truly inspiring. Well done to you all.”
