School bake sale raises £1,145.55 in just 17 minutes for UNICEF

A group of children from All Saints’ CoE Primary School in Peterborough have raised a grand total of £1,145.55 at their bake sale for UNICEF, with everything selling out in just 17 minutes.
A group of Year 6 friends came together with a shared goal — to help children around the world who are suffering — by raising money for UNICEF. With support from parents and school staff, they designed a poster, rolled up their sleeves, and began preparing for a charity bake sale.
One of the organisers, Mustafaa Khalil, explained: “It’s really sad to see children in places like Gaza not having food or water when we have so much. When I get money from family, I always want to give some to charity, and I hope this helps them.”
The children took the lead in baking, cooking, and running the sale themselves with everything from sweet cones to biryani selling out in record time. Rafiq Catering, who generously donated some of the food, and whose son Yusha was one of the organisers, shared their pride: “It’s always so inspiring to see children wanting to give back. We’ll always support their efforts and are so proud of them all.”
The event was a huge success, and all the funds raised will now go directly to children who need it most, as the children had intended.
