Century celebrations for local care home resident

Miriam Sutton was joined by staff, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday. A party was held at the home and guests enjoyed a special birthday cake, and party food made by the home’s chef’s Kinga Kedzia and Aneliya Gramatikova.

Miriam enjoyed her party and being surrounded by her long-time friends, residents and staff where she enjoyed opening her gifts and reminiscing about her life over the last century.Miriam came to Longueville Court in August 2024, and she is enjoying a new chapter of her life.

The birthday girl, said: "I was so happy this morning opening up my card from the king, it is a great milestone, I would also like to thank all my friends who came today, and the activities team for making my day special."

Among those attending was Long-time friend Angela Griffin, who played host for the afternoon to lots of guests. Speaking about her centenarian, she said: “Miriam is and has been a fantastic friend to so many over the past hundred years, and it’s wonderful to be with her on this very special day to say just how proud she makes us feel.”
