Bayleaf care home surprise resident with concert trip
Resident, Joyce Walters, from Bayleaf Care Home in Huntingdon has always enjoyed being involved in singing groups so staff at the home made sure that she had the chance to attend a very special Christmas Concert.
Despite only living at Bayleaf Care Home since the beginning of November, Joyce is already beloved by staff and residents alike. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making Joyce attending the concert a reality, as they knew how much it meant to her, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Joyce’s face when she returned back to Bayleaf.
Staff found out about Joyce’s love for singing soon after she arrived at Bayleaf and when the home received an invite to attend the dress rehearsal for the Riverport Singers’ Christmas Concert at the Corn Exchange in St Ives, it was quickly agreed that this was something that Joyce simply had to attend.
In response to this wonderful surprise, Joyce, said: “I was so happy when I found out about the concert. It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about me.”
Katie Wilkinson, General Manager at the Bayleaf Care Home, said: “We believe that every moment is worth cherishing. We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Bayleaf. It was wonderful to see how happy Joyce was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.”
