Skin care product maker Eve Taylor in Peterborough secures £225,000 loan

A prestigious manufacturer of skin care products in Peterborough has secured a major cash injection to help power its expansion.

Eve Taylor (London), based in Mallard Road, Bretton, has been awarded a £225,000 grant by Barclays under the Government-backed Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS).

It will support the company’s manufacture of retail skin and body care products on-site and ensure that the business has the working capital to see it through the Covid-19 crisis.

Eve Taylor (London) was originally founded in London in 1963, but now has its entire UK and international operations on a single purpose built site in Peterborough

It employs 21 people and exports to more than 40 countries across the world.

Chris Taylor, business development director at Eve Taylor (London), said: “This loan will enable us to both secure and expand our manufacturing capability and enable us to add more staff in the near future as part of our growth plan.

“We are delighted that Barclays has been able to help support us with our recent application for the Government backed CBILS loan.”

Nigel Killock, Barclays regional business manager, said: “Like many businesses during the peak of the Coronavirus crises, the company needed to adjust its operating model to maintain their products and services.

He added: “It has a strong management team and we were pleased to be able to support them with a CBIL, which will give them the working capital and flexibility they need.”

Eve Taylor is still involved with the day to day running of the company, along with her three sons, Chris, Alan and Raymond.

In 2008 Eve Taylor was awarded an OBE for her contribution to the profession and industry.

Fifteen years ago, the company opted to develop its own range of professional and retail skin and body care products to give more support to the needs of the professional therapist across the world to complement its established range of pre-blended aromatherapy oils.
