Recruitment for new Peterborough Lidl begins with around 30 jobs available

A new Peterborough supermarket will open in the spring as construction work continues.

The new Lidl store will open on the site of the old British Sugar offices at Oundle Road in Woodston.

Work has been taking place throughout the year, with the old ‘sugar cube’ demolished during lockdown, and the shell of the new superstore replacing it.

Recruitment has already started for the new store, and a spokesman for Lidl said: “We can confirm that the store on Oundle Road, Peterborough is set to open in Spring 2021 and will create around 30 full and part time positions for the local community.

“Recruitment is underway with some initial hires already being made and we will be advertising some more roles in due course so would encourage anyone interested in applying to keep an eye out for vacancies on our careers website in the coming weeks.”
