Peterborough’s Yours Clothing beats High Street gloom with record Christmas trading

A clothes retailer in Peterborough has defied the high street gloom with record trading over the Christmas period.

The omni-channel, plus size fashion retailer Yours Clothing says the Christmas sales helped the company achieve one of its strongest years.

During the peak trading period, overall sales were up against the previous year, driven by continued strong online demand.

E-commerce sales increased significantly year-on-year with website traffic increasing by more than 50 per cent on the previous year.

Overseas sales achieved good growth year on year over the period with the number of new international e-commerce customers showing an impressive increase, which delivered a record year.

The company, headquartered in Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, was also ranked as the region’s top firm for its fast growing exports with its first entry – in 81st place – in the Sunday Times’ prestigious International Track 200 league table.

Yours Clothing sells plus-sized clothing from more than 160 stores in the UK, Ireland and Germany.

It opened 26 stores, including one in Dublin and three in Germany, in the 2019 financial year.

Yours has 14 websites shipping clothes to more than 90 countries.

ts international sales grew at an average of 53 per cent per year over two years to an annual £9.9 million in 2019, on annualised total sales of £103.9 million.
