Peterborough jobs show will offer 1,000 vacancies

More than 1,000 career vacancies will be up for grabs at a jobs show in Peterborough.

The event will take place on Thursday when about 100 apprenticeships will also be on offer from dozens of exhibitors from around the region.

The event is free and will be held at Peterborough United Football Club, in London Road, between 10.30pm and 3pm.

It will be launched by Barry Fry, the club’s director of football.

Victoria Clarke, director of The Job Show, which is staging the event, said: “We are pleased to be back with have over 1,000 job opportunities on offer from top recruiters in Cambridgeshire.

“This event is ideal for those already employed, looking to improve their career prospects, train for a new career or for young people seeking apprenticeships.”

Mr Fry said: “I am delighted to be launching The Job Show here at the Posh.

Exhibitors will include Hermes, Nandos, Envigo, Baxterstorey, Cooper Lomaz, Lifeways, Busy Bees Nursery, Ramsey Health, Hales Group, Moto Hospitality, PJ Care, Cross Keys Care, Sue Ryder, Care Solutions

Group, Royal Airforce, 3aaa’s Apprenticeships, The Princes Trust and The National Careers Service.

Jobs on offer will include: health, social and child care: Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Care Support Workers, Occupational Therapists, Operating Department, Practitioners, Radiologists, Non Clinical Support Staff, Qualified Early Years Educators, Room Managers, Nursery Assistants, Customer Service: Customer Advisors, Customer Service Managers, Event Fundraising Officer, Finance, Scientific, Marketing & IT : Digital Marketing Executive, Brand Executive, I T, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, Scientific Trainees, Laboratory Technicians, Animal Husbandry Catering & Hospitality: restaurant staff, Food Service Assistants, Chefs, Management Graduates and self-employed Couriers.

There will also be a dedicated apprenticeship, training and back to work centre with apprenticeships such as business admin, technology, web and social media, digital marketing, accountancy, financial services and business administration for 18 to 24-year-olds and health and social care aimed at 17 to 55-year-olds – plus a CV workshop throughout the day led by The National Careers Service.
