New Peterborough golf store will make players green with envy

A new golf store is set to make players green with envy when it opens next month.

AFGolf store will open in Yaxley on April 12, when COVID restrictions are ended, offering golfers a range of products to help improve their scores this summer.

The firm already has a store in Cambridge, but city shoppers will be saved a drive when the new Peterborough store opens. The new Store is 2500 square foot in size, making it the largest golf store in Peterborough,

Along with a range of clubs and equipment, coaching support in the form of Lead Coach Jason Boast will be on offer. Jason will work alongside customers to identify potential improvements in their game, or simply assist in selecting the correct golfing equipment for their style of play. Lessons will be conducted in a state of the art swing studio under the presence of Trackman technology and video analysis software.

Head of Retail Oliver Fullerton said: “We are very excited about the Peterborough store. It’s a new unit so we have customised it with our ideas and how we want the shop to look. Peterborough has got quite a few golf courses in and around and not many shops to buy products from, so we think it’s a good opportunity to be able to offer the services.

“We were shut between March and June, but we have had a record year. More people have taken up golf during lockdown. It could be because a lot of indoor sport was closed or restricted. So, a lot of people are new to the game and I guess they wanted to treat themselves to new products after the lockdown, so we have definitely seen a rise in demand.

“Business has been fantastic, the growth for the sport in the last year or so has been incredible. We are looking forward to the new shop. All the Covid guidelines will be followed inside including face coverings and social distancing.”

The store will be located at Unit 10, Eagle Business Park, Harrier Way, Yaxley, PE7 3SE.
