Decontamination experts warn some Peterborough businesses will need a thorough cleansing before re-opening

The boss of cleansing company has warned Peterborough businesses of the difficulties of re-opening after the Covid-19 lockdown.

Will Harrison, owner of the decontamination specialists the WJH Group, in Cliff Road, Stamford, in A local Stamford based company is leading the way in getting businesses ready to re-open after the coronavirus lockdown.

He says many premises may need a comprehensive cleaning to combat Covid-19 as well as many other bacterial and viral infections.

Mr Harrison said: “Many businesses had to close overnight without preparing the business for such a protracted lockdown. Opening up again will not be straightforward.”

Many businesses will need to consider the cleanliness of switches and door handles to testing for legionella on taps and water fittings.

Mr Harrison said that the WJH Group used state of the art equipment to carry out a variety of cleansing services.

These can include touch point cleaning using special sanitiser for switches, door handles, keypads, electrostatic cleaning and ultra low volume fogging or misting to disperse the chemical in a fine mist that lands on surfaces and kills viruses within 30 seconds.

All treatment dries to oxygen and water and is suitable for food preparation areas, restaurants and bars. Swabbing is offered before and after treatment with the results used to create a report and provide a certificate of cleanliness.
