The new store - its first in Cambridgeshire - will stock products from its Love Local range which sources goods from 60 local producers including beverages from Fenspirits and Elgood’s Brewery (both based in Wisbech), and sausages, pork pies and scotch eggs by Grasmere Farm, based in Deeping St James.

The company said: “As we’re unable to hold our usual in-store opening ceremony and meet you all in person just yet we’re holding an online launch event on Zoom the evening before we open.

“Why not join us to:

. Hear all about Lincolnshire Co-op

. See how we can support your community

. Find out what you can expect from your brand new food store

“At the end of the event you’ll have the chance to chat to our teams about topics that are important to you. Four breakout rooms will be available, each focusing on a different topic.

“So, grab your laptop, tablet, computer or smartphone, put the kettle on and join us at 6pm on Wednesday, April 28.”
