Accolade for fast growing Wisbech components firm as its creates Covid taskforce
Anglia Components, in Sandall Road, Wisbech, saw its profits soar by more than 62 per cent over three years to the end of 2018 to £7.1 million.
Over the same period, turnover at the company, which has 145 staff and stocks more than one billion components from over 900,000 product lines in the UK, reached a record high of £66.9 million.
The company has just secured its first inclusion in the 21st Sunday Times Profit Track Covid-19 league table in 42nd place out of 70 companies.
It was also been praised for its creation of a task force to ensure components reached firms designing or manufacturing ventilators and other vital medical equipment to help address the Covid-19 emergency.
Steve Rawlins, chief executive, said: “We are proud to be featured in the Sunday Times as one of Britain’s top private companies with a track record of success over a three year period.
“Appearing on this list recognises the dedication and effort put in by the entire Anglia team and has allowed us to continue investing in the business for the benefit of our staff, customers and suppliers.”
Hamish Stevenson, founder and chief executive of Fast Track, said: “These Profit Track companies make an important contribution to our economy, paying taxes that support the NHS and other public services we are relying on at this very difficult time.
“We hope their impressive profit growth will give them resilience in the face of the serious economic disruption caused by the pandemic.”
This year’s Profit Track league table is sponsored by Santander Corporate and Commercial and UBS Wealth Management, and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
