If you spent lockdown singing and dancing around your home thinking how much you’d love to get on an actual stage and perform - and you fancy joining Peterborough’s award-winning musical theatre society - then PODS would love to hear from you.

The members were in the midst of rehearsals for Shrek the Musical when Covid-19 caused the closure of theatres and prevented rehearsals taking place last March.

The Society, who were due to celebrate their 120th Anniversary last year, have kept active online during lockdowns with games nights, quizzes, virtual singing rehearsals, read-throughs and even their first virtual dance rehearsal! But now they’re back with a bang and preparing to bring the smash-hit festive family favourite, Elf the Musical to The Cresset in November.

Elf will be followed by the postponed production of Shrek which will now take place at The Cresset in May 2022, so whether you’re a budding Buddy the Elf or a potential wise-cracking Donkey from Shrek, PODS are ready to welcome you!

During these crazy times, PODS have moved their auditions for new members online. The virtual auditions consist of prospective members sending in recordings of themselves performing a song, a monologue and also following a short dance routine to record and send in.
