Hat-trick of awards for PODS

Peterborough’s award-winning musical theatre society, PODS, won an incredible three awards at the annual NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) awards: picking up the award for every category they were nominated in.

Members of the society attended a gala luncheon and ceremony in Stevenage.

PODS picked up the Best Musical 2019 award for their production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which was staged at The Cresset last October.

Next PODS won the Best Technical Award for their incredible flying car in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and finally they were awarded the shield for Best Overall Production 2019.

President of PODS, Michele Hodgett said: “It’s testament to the hard work of all of our cast, crew, band, production team and front of house teams all working so hard together that PODS can mount shows of this high standard.

“Chitty was a wonderful show to be a part of and we are all thrilled beyond belief to have been recognised with these three wonderful awards”.

PODS are currently hard at work rehearsing for their next production, SHREK the musical, which is scheduled to run at The Cresset from May 26-30.
