They have now launched a brand new online platform called Lamphouse On Demand - offering full access to a fantastic range of Lamphouse’s previous productions to watch whenever you want - and more.

These shows include the ever popular Suitcase Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet, which sees two actors perform the entire story of the star crossed lovers in just 45 minutes, using only what’s in their suitcases.

Lamphouse Theatre are known in Peterborough for telling epic stories in intimate settings, and now they’re back where they started…in their lounge!

Loved for their madcap three, or even two person, versions of classic stories, Lamphouse has never been a company to shy away from a challenge. They once told the whole history of Peterborough, from the dawn of time to the present day, in just 60 minutes. So, seeing as we can’t go to the theatre at the moment, they’ve challenged themselves to bring you their exciting, hilarious, entertaining and music-filled theatre online.

When you sign up to Lamphouse On Demand you’ll receive full, anytime access to the shows, plus each week subscribers can watch an exclusive episode or live stream which, in traditional Lamphouse style, will be full of comedy, music and probably lots of hats. This will be filmed or streamed directly from the Lamphouse HQ living room to yours.

Artistic Director Tom Fox says: “Even though the theatres have closed we won’t let that stop us! We’re really excited about bringing brilliant shows, scenes, sketches and plays straight to your living room to keep you all entertained and smiling through the next few months.

“You’ll be able to watch our version of The Jungle Book On Demand. This show is perfect for anyone aged 4 and up. You’ll also be able to access Suitcase Shakespeare which is great for anyone who is studying Romeo and Juliet or Macbeth.”

Lamphouse’s shows are for everyone. Adults, kids, families, grandparents, couples, mates, groups, tea-drinkers, beer-drinkers, music-lovers, those that enjoy standup, and those that adore theatre - everybody’s welcome!

Producer Becky Owen-Fisher added: “One of our audience members described Suitcase Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet as a ‘bonkers thing of beauty’ and that really sums up how we feel about theatre. Join us on this adventure and

get the full Lamphouse experience without even moving from your sofa!”
