The Cresset has some great nights of live music to look forward to later this year – with many of them paying tribute to artists that have packed arenas and sold tens of millions of records over the years.

Tina Live, on July 2, is A Tribute Show To Tina Turner. This fully live energetic show charts the life and career of one of the world’s iconic performers

Full of hits including Private Dancer, Nutbush City Limits, Proud Mary, River Deep Mountain High and Let’s Stay Together to name but a few, the show stars Julie Nevada as the queen of rock.

On July 9, Barry Steele brings you The Roy Orbison and Travelling Wilburys Story.

Following his West End debut at The Adelphi Theatre, Barry is set to put the rock back into ‘The Big O’ in a brand new production as he and a cast of fabulous singers and musicians explore the back catalogue of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and, of course, the master himself Roy Orbison.

Bringing things a little more up to date, Coldplace bring their tribute to Coldplay on July 16.

In 13 years the band have over 600 gigs under their belts and are firmly established in many of the UK’s top tribute venues .

Bye Bye Baby, on July 23, will take you back in time on a musical journey through the career of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, whose songs graced such films as The Deer Hunter, Dirty Dancing and Grease. 

From their early beginnings in the 1950s, when Frankie first joined the group, this show celebrates the greatest hits such as; Beggin; Big Girl’s Don’t Cry; Walk Like A Man; Let’s Hang On; Who Loves You; December 63 (Oh What a Night); Bye Bye Baby; Can’t Take My Eyes off You; Fallen Angel and Grease through to a grand finale medley of more of the group’s greatest hits. 

Simon & Garfunkel Through The Years is a new show performed by Bookends (September 16).

Made up of Dan Haynes and Pete Richards, Bookends have toured the globe extensively. Performing the songs in a truly captivating way, against a backdrop of iconic imagery, their delicate recreation of the unmistakable sound of the American folk-rock duo is something of a masterpiece. Expect hits such as The Sound of Silence, Mrs Robinson, The Boxer and Bookends’ own beautiful rendition of the unforgettable Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Thank You For The Music (September 17) is the international smash-hit tribute show which brings all of ABBA’s number one hits to the stage in a production like no other.

The hugely popular show, combines the unmistakable harmonies, colourful costumes, and dazzling performances by an all-star cast.

The Illegal Eagles – The world’s official No.1 Eagles tribute – take to the stage on September 18.

This phenomenal group of musicians have been touring for over two decades and remain true Eagles fanatics! Their longevity and continued international acclaim are due in no small part to their extraordinary mastery of the Eagles’ distinctive sound. The Bon Jovi Experience (September 19) are the world’s first and finest tribute to the great Bon Jovi and are the only tribute to have performed live on stage with Jon Bon Jovi himself.

Imagine (September 30) tells the legendary story of John Lennon, from his dramatic rise to fame as a Beatle through to his iconic solo career.

During the 80s and 90s, Dire Straits were one of the biggest music brands and concert touring bands in the world.   Their biggest album, Brothers in Arms, released in 1985 still sits in the top 10 of the best selling albums in chart history. 

dS:uK…in tribute to Dire Straits (October 1) began touring in 2016 and have quickly become regarded as the quintessential tribute band among Dire Straits fans with their incredible attention to musical and sonic detail.

Their Brothers in 85 tour pays tribute to the worldwide Brothers in Arms tour, with the band bringing fans the ultimate 1985 Dire Straits experience and all of those classic songs that you want to hear.

Supreme Queen (October 20) continue to take things to a whole different level, with their homage to the halcyon days of one of the planet’s greatest ever rock bands. Since their formation in the nineties, Supreme Queen have played to hundreds of  thousands of Queen fans across the world. Scott Maley’s incredible vocal and visual resemblance to Freddie Mercury, fronting this remarkable band of musicians has seen Supreme Queen  become one of the most respected bands of their genre.

Hello Again - The Story of Neil Diamond (November 3) uses evocative imagery, video and narration to enhance the magic, as this show takes you on a musical journey through Neil Diamond’s glittering 50-year career. From The Bang Years to the present day you’ll soon be singing along to all the hits including: Sweet Caroline, Cracklin’ Rosie, Forever In Blue Jeans, Song Sung Blue, Hello Again,and many more.
