Peterborough United star Sammie Szmodics has been nominated for an EFL fans’ League One award for March.

Szmodics scored twice and set up one other goal in Saturday’s 7-0 win over Accrington Stanley at the Weston Homes Stadium. He scored three goals in March in total. His first against Accrington was the 50th Football League goal of his career, 15 of them were scored for Posh.

Szmodics’ rivals for the fans’ award are Hull City goalkeeper Matt Ingram, Sunderland defender Luke O’Nien, AFC Wimbledon defender Will Nightingale, Charlton’s ex-Posh striker Conor Washingtin and Blackpool forward Jerry Yates.

Deadline for voting is 9am tomorrow (Wednesday).
