Police have issued a warning after a rise in thefts from vehicles in Oundle Road in Peterborough.

The Peterborough police Twitter account tweeted: “Oundle Road Peterborough - be aware of the increased level of theft from motor vehicles over the last 7 days. Please ensure items are not left on display in your vehicle and your vehicles are locked and secured. #PreventCrime #2284.”

The Peterborough Telegraph contacted Cambridgeshire police for further information.

A spokesman said: “There have been eight thefts in total along the Oundle Road corridor. Incidents range from insecure vehicles being entered and bags being stolen, including gloves boxes being rummaged through, to a couple of break-ins.”
