Police stopped a gang of youths putting lives at risk playing on the railway near Peterborough Railway Station.

Peterborough British Transport Police officers attended a report of up to eight youths by the railway just north of Peterborough.

A spokesman for the force said two were located, who ‘admitted to playing chicken with trains and throwing stones at the overhead cables.’

The spokesman said: “Both were taken home to parents and will be given an educational input.”
