Top-quality street performers from Covent Garden will be bringing their world-renowned acts to the streets of Huntingdon over two Saturdays of this summer.
Between 10:30am and 2:30pm many people on the streets of Huntingdon will witness performers who have been across the world, been featured on TV and in movies, headlined festivals and broke Guinness World Records.
The first Saturday of the two, 25 July, holds exciting acrobatics from The Black Eagles. Originally from Tanzania, East Africa, the group learnt their skills on Dar-es-Salaam’s streets. After having toured extensively in South Africa at the Brian Boswell Circus, they then appeared in the UK and Europe as the Black Eagles and made a name for themselves at The Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury Festival, and more.
Saturday 1 August holds more entertainment with Bendy Em, one of the world’s leading contortionists. Being able to fit her whole body in a 16 inch Perspex box has treated Bendy Em well with an appearance in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ and advertisements for Hewlett-Packard. She has also headlined in many international festivals.
As well as these thrilling acts, on both Saturdays the Wendy Burke School of Dance will be broadcasting their skills. The School’s competition squads are very successful, having won trophies and medals in various jazz, modern, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical dance style competitions.
Dave the Balloon Man will be among the regular entertainers joining the trio for your entertainment, all brought to you by Huntingdon First/BID Huntingdon.
