Michelin poser for Peterborough restaurant

A tweet on the influential restaurant guide publisher’s twitter account yesterday contained photos of a number of dishes and this message “Local boy @foodleeclarke impressing the folks of Peterborough at his new restaurant Prévost”.
And Lee - who makes no secret of a desire to gain a highly cherished star from Michelin at the new venture in the future - has confirmed he has had a visit from the inspectors... which is remarkable given the restaurant in Priestgate only opened last month.

Lee, head chef and owner of Prévost, which opened in the refurbished former Flyers Club mid April, said: “To have had Michelin visit us within our first four weeks is a great vote of confidence. Our team is extremely excited about what this might mean for the restaurant and for Peterborough as a whole.
“We hope Michelin enjoyed their visit and we’re looking forward to the big reveal in September when next year’s Guide is published, to see whether we’ve made the cut.”
It is not the first time the Peterborugh chef has impressed Michelin. The 2014 Guide included Clarkes in St John’s Square, where he was formerly head chef, describing it as “beautifully decorated and formally run” and commenting on the “Ambitious, tasty, modern cooking…”
