After a panto season, which saw Aladdin starring Alison Hammond break box office records, the Cresset theatre is preparing for its Spring season which gets under way this month.
Here are some of the highlights:
Tony Stockwell – Psychic Medium
January 28: It’s NOT creepy or kooky, mysterious or spooky. It’s Psychic Medium Tony Stockwell demonstrating his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones.
Psychic medium Tony Stockwell is not a new kid on the block and during his 20 years working as a medium he has constantly worked to improve his game and push the boundaries of his communication.
Omid Djalili - Iranalamadingdong
January 29: He’s back on tour with a new show, following a sell-out four week West-End residency and a sold-out season at the Edinburgh Festival.
A firm favourite with his legendary performances, Omid’s stand-up awards include; ’Time Out Award’ and ‘EMMA Award’ for Best Stand Up and nominated for the ‘South Bank Award’
This is Omid’s Cresset debut and tickets are selling fast!
The Spectacular 60s Show featuring The Move, The Fortunes, The Dakotas and Sounds Force 5
February 19: Following a hugely successful show in 2013, the Spectacular 60s Show is back! A true celebration of the 60s, this is a fabulous opportunity to see the original songs performed by the original artists, alongside some authentic recreations of the greatest hits of a generation.
Topping the bill will be THE MOVE, starring founder members Trevor Burton and drummer Bev Bevan, who also starred in ELO.
They will be joined by THE FORTUNES who also had massive hits in the 60s with Here Comes That Rainy DayFeelin, You’ve got Your Troubles and the unforgettable Here It Comes Again.
Special guests will be THE DAKOTAS (from Billy J Kramer & the Dakotas), and celebrating their 50th anniversary SOUNDS FORCE 5 who appeared alongside such acts as Cream, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix.
It’s a night full of hits not to be missed!
Rigoletto: The Russian State Ballet and Opera House
February 21: Featuring an impressive cast and accompanied by a large live orchestra with over 30 musicians, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House make their first appearance at The Cresset with a world-class opera.
Rigoletto is one of Verdi’s best-loved masterpieces, and is considered as standard repertoire.
The opera includes the Duke’s much loved cynical aria La donna e mobile.
This is an opportunity for opera lovers to see Rigoletto as never before with an established and long standing Russian theatre company that continues to grow on the international stage and win awards in the field of opera and ballet.
With a live orchestra, sung in the original Italian with English subtitles.

February 27: Fans of Michael Jackson, brace your selves as Forever Jackson, Europe’s number 1 Jackson tribute show, re-ignites the magic of the legendary King Of Pop.
Robin Parsons of Forever Jackson pays true homage to the late great King Of Pop. Singing 100% live, his voice replicates the distinctive tones of Jackson, his dancing mirrors the legend in every detail, step for step right down to the smallest of mannerisms and his look, created through a two hour theatrical make up process, is the exact image of MJ.
With wonderful touches of originality, visual extravagance throughout and a set list for all ages from the Jackson 5’s Can You Feel It to solo pieces such as Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal, this is truly a show for everyone.

February 27: Headliner John Scott is one of the finest comedians currently performing on the circuit. An Edinburgh Festival veteran and yarn telling maestro.
Support comes from award winning Canadian Peter White and Russell Howard’s Good News regular Lou Sanders plus upbeat Irish compére Michael Legge.
