The main hall at Peterborough’s King’s School will be transformed to The Wonderland Jazz Club for the sixth form production of Alice this weekend.

Inspired by Leis Carroll’s stories, the students have devised their own take on a classic with a scintillating mixture of music, dance and drama - set in a jazz club with a Domino Bar serving drinks throughout.

“It has been ambitious and hard work, but the students have created a spectacular and very different piece of work,” said head of drama David Aldred.

“It is a surreal drama performance and unlike anything we have done before here at King’s.

“We are transforming the school hall into the Wonderland Jazz Club with its own Domino Bar where the audience can sit and tables and order drinks.

“There is a live band, lots of songs from the jazz era people will recognise and great choreography,”

There are performances tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday at 7pm.

Tickets cost £5 for adults (£4 concessions) and are available from the school’s finance office on 01733 751541.
