Whether you are barmy about birds of prey, raving for reptiles or serious about snakes, this half term, Peterborough Museum becomes a ZOO-seum as the animals are taking over!
There will be a different focus from day to day, from owls and birds of prey on Tuesday and Wednesday to creepy crawlies, reptiles and amphibians on Thursday and Friday - you might even meet a snake or two in this interactive week for all the family.
So make the most of your time this May half term in the safest, closest, fun-est way to get up close and personal with furry creatures.
Tickets for the day are just £3 children, £4 adults, £12 families.
Next, warm up for July’s Heritage Festival with a special Villainous Vikings event at Flag Fen as they hone their skills ready for the impending invasion of Peterborough.
Discover what it takes to be a Viking warrior – see archery demonstrations, weapons displays, and battle skirmishes with the local Saxons.
Visit the Viking and Saxon camps to experience life 1,000 years ago, plus there will be plenty of fun family activities. The Villainous Vikings event will take place on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12, from 10am (last entry 4pm).
Prices are £8 for adults, £5 for children, £20 for families (2 adults & 3 children).
Finally, don’t miss this year’s Peterborough Heritage Festival on Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3. A horde of marauding Vikings invade Peterborough City Centre this summer as part of this year’s FREE city centre spectacular – one of the UK’s premier history events.
Vikings and Saxons will battle for control of the city in a brutal display of force, recreating the attack on Peterborough in 870AD, with no quarter given or prisoners taken by either side.
It will be the biggest Viking raid on the city for 1,000 years.
