Oundle Festival promises arts, music, drama, food and a party

Oundle International Festival gets under way next week with a variety of events in an exciting eight-day programme.

With events celebrating music, arts, drama and more, the first is a family-friendly outdoor theatre in Barnwell Country Park on July 10.

Throughout the week there will be not only evening entertainment but also lunchtime recitals and even a free morning coffee concert.

By popular demand, this year the festival features stand-up comedian Pete Searles who will be talking about memories of his journey through a confused childhood, past relationships and everything in between.

Pete will perfom on July 11, tickets £8.

Lovers of musical productions will enjoy the a sing-a-long screening of The Sound of Music on the film’s 50th anniversary.

It will be shown in the Stahl Theatre on July 12 and tickets costing £15 include entry, a host and a free fun pack.

Don’t forget to be hungry for the Food Festival street market, a free event on July 18 in Oundle marketplace showcasing all kinds of the country’s finest cuisine.

Stalls, street food and even street theatre and music will make it a memorable occasion.

The grand finale of the event, Party at the Wharf, features a fantastic line-up of bands and will provide Nene Valley Brewery beer at the bar. Gates open at 5pm and the show will end with a spectacular laser show.
