Opening dates announced for two new stores at Peterborough's Queensgate shopping centre

The two stores are Australia-based children’s stationery chain Smiggle and fashion chain Joules and both will open next month.

First to open will be Smiggle, which is expected to open its doors on Friday, December 8th with Joules following on Wednesday, December 13th.

Mark Broadhead, director at Queensgate, said: “Smiggle and Joules are great new additions to Queensgate Shopping Centre and will further position Queensgate as a prime retail destination.

"We are experiencing more customers travelling to Queensgate from across the region, especially over the Christmas period, and our mix of fashion, beauty, technology, food, homeware plus our independent retailers in Westgate Arcade, make Queensgate a popular place to spend the day and shop.”

Smiggle, which has 90 stores in trhe UK, will occupy an 1,711.78 sq ft store in Queensgate and is expected to sell its full range of stationery plus office supplies and also create a number of jobs.

Joules, which has 108 stores, and sells clothing and homeware, will occupy a 3,199 sq ft unit next to Smiggle on Central Square.

Queensgate has also announced its Christmas shopping hours.

From December 1 to December 23 stores are open:

Monday to Friday: 9am until 8pm

Saturday: 9am until 7pm

Sunday: 10.30am until 4.30pm

Christmas Eve: 10.30am until 4.30pm

Christmas Day CLOSED

Boxing Day: 9am until 5.30pm

December 27, 28 and 29: 9am until 8pm

December 30: 9am until 6pm

New Year’s Eve: 10.30am until 4.30pm

New Year’s Day: CLOSED
