The final stages of planning for the 12th Cambridge Rock Festival are well underway - and we have some tickets to give away.
It gets underway with a special extra day on Wednesday, August 3, in aid of Addenbrooke’s Hospital, featuring Deep Purple’s Don Airey and friends, supported by Cream legend Jack Bruce’s son Malcolm playing a tribute to his late father.
Acclaimed guitarist (and former Womble!) Chris Spedding will also be appearing, together with Steve Parsons who previously worked with Cream drummer Ginger Baker in the Baker Gurvitz Army.
The main festival continues on Thursday from 11am, with the main stage headlined by Pure Floyd with their full laser show, the reformed Atomic Rooster make their first appearance for over 30 years.
Friday sees Cregan & Co (Rod Stewart’s guitarist and co-songwriter), Welsh legends Son Of Man with Deke Leonard and six other bands.
From 11am on Saturday visitors can see also four locally based bands – Derecho, 4th Labyrinth, Pearl Handled Revolver and Walkway, followed by Hekz, Colour Of Noise, 80s star Hazel O’Connor and progressive headliner Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy.
Sunday features Focus, Mostly Autumn, Curved Air, the multi award winning Purson and many more.
In conjunction with the CRF, we are able to offer two lucky readers each a pair of Thursday-Sunday tickets. To enter, just answer the following question: Which is the odd one out? (a) Little Angels, (b) Iron Maiden, (c) Colour Of Noise?
Send your answer and contact details by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on July 20, together with your name, a valid email address and phone number.
Winners will be contacted by the CRF by email.
