Science fiction and fantasy will descend on Nene Valley Railway this weekend with a free family event organised by Steampunk Stamford.
Dressed in gowns, goggles, suits, corsets and veils, this local group of enthusiasts for Victorian and Steampunk culture, offers a number of attractions such as a Victorian photo booth with a dressing up box so children and adults alike can look like Victorians and have a photographic memento.
Visitors will also be treated to street magic, a magic lantern show, old-fashioned music from a Hurdy Gurdy, tea duelling, brolly fencing and a Victorian market on a train with the added atmosphere of a Victorian soundscape.
There will also be storytelling performances, poetry and music the whole family can enjoy as well as an opportunity to taste Victorian cuisine in the Nene Valley Railway cafe plus a raffle to win Victorian and Steampunk-inspired goodies.
Visitors can also enjoy steam powered train rides up and down the Nene Valley Railway line from Yarwell to Peterborough.
The family fun days will be held on Sunday, May 24 and Monday, May 25 from 11am to 4pm. Visit www.steampunkstamford.co.uk
