A unique portfolio of wildlife and landscape photographs will be on display in Peterborough on Saturday, in aid of the charity, Shine.
The exhibition, showcasing the work of Shaun Pitchers (pictured), will take place from 10am-4pm, at Shine’s head office, 42 Park Road, Peterborough.
Up to 50 photographs will be on display and available for sale - on canvas, framed or bordered - and Shaun will also take commissions on the day. £5 from every photo sold will go to towards Shine’s work to support people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Shaun (45), of Sugar Way, Peterborough, has previously exhibited in Peterborough Museum. Self taught, he developed an interest in photography eight years ago when he was given a camera.
‘I caught a dragonfly using a high definition zoom lens. The amazing detail on the wings captured my imagination.
“It’s not just about taking a photo - it’s about making one. Seeing the best in something and creating that moment. I aim to tell a story and get in touch with the viewer. People ask me what I use to take the photos - I use a digital SLR, but most of all I use my eyes!”
Now Shaun is looking forward to the autumn: “The starling murmuration will be happening soon, and the deer rutting in Richmond Park. There’s something to capture in every season.”
