Social media sensations The Ouse Valley Singles Club are appearing for the first time ever in Peterborough this Saturday at The Crown , Lincoln Road, New England.
Their song “Girl from the Fens” was released back in May, and within a week had more than 150,000 hits online. Band frontman Tim Barron wrote the song about his wife Amy who is from Wisbech.
Based in Bedford, the band formed in 2009 out of the 1950’s skiffle scene. They describe their genre as ‘The Clash meets George Formby punk skiffle trio with a music hall twist’. Other self-penned songs include The Moustache Song, Scampi and Chips, Conkers, and Kicking Out Time.
