Fun for all as the Stamford Mid-Lent Fair returns

The Stamford Mid-Lent Fair returns this weekend with fun, rides and attractions for all the family to enjoy, both young and old.

The fair traditionally arrives in town on Mother’s Day (Sunday, March 6) and starts the following day (Monday, March 7), running until Saturday, March 12.

The famous event, which features more than a 100 colourful rides, along with food and drink stalls and games, will fill both Bath Row and Broad Street.

It will start with an opening ceremony on Monday (March 7) by the Mayor of Stamford at 6pm at the waltzer ride located on the corner of Broad Street and Ironmonger Street.

Road closures for the fair in Stamford are as follows:

Saturday, March 5: 5pm - Gooch’s Court car park.

Saturday, March 5: 5.30pm onwards - Castle Dyke and Bath Row.

Sunday, March 6; 8am – Castle Street and Sheep Market.

Sunday, March 6: midday - Red Lion Square, Red Lion Street, Crown Street, Broad Street, Newgates, Star Lane.

All affected roads and car parks will re-open at 6am on Sunday, March 13.
