Casting call for new film to be shot in Peterborough

A casting call for a new film which will be shot in Peterborough will be held in the city centre next weekend.

The film, Elsie, Prince of Denmark” is a warm and humorous coming of age film, exploring death, destiny and Shakespeare, has been written by former Ken Stimpson school and Peterborough Regional College student Julie Mayhew.

This professional film is scheduled to shoot in Peterborough in 2017 with local students working alongside a professional cast and crew, and with support from Metal Culture and PHACE and Peterborough Regional College.

Prior to filming there will be a workshop and rehearsal held in late October 2016 to introduce participants to the professional cast and crew and to run through basic film skills.

The film will shoot for three days in 2017. The edit process will be made available online for students, cast and crew to share in the results of their work.

The film will recruit up to 25 actors and six assistant crew from young people aged 16-18 living locally to Peterborough. Crew roles would cover: production design, camera, runner, make-up, costume.

The casting call is looking for acring talent aged 16-24 to audition at the City Gallery, Peterborough Museum, between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday October 8.

Actors will need to be available for the following dates: 27th - 28th October (rehearsals) 23rd -26th February (shooting).
