WORLD MASTERS: Bourne ace Gray pipped by world number two

Bourne pool ace Mark Gray was beaten in the first round of the prestigious World Masters in Gibraltar (February 18).

Gray, the resident professional at Bourne Snooker Club, was pipped 8-6 by world number two Chang Jung Lin from Taiwan in the 16-man invitation event.

Gray had earned his place by rising to to the top of the European rankings. He picked up $3,000 in prize money despite his early loss.

The event was won by David Alcaide of Spain who beat Scotland’s Jayson Shaw 8-7 in the final.
